Tokyo ramen chain Oreryu Shio Ramen (俺流塩らーめん) is the perfect introduction to ramen for visitors to Tokyo. They have English menus and there’s a good variety of ramen to choose from, whether classic Shio Ramen or Fried Chicken Ramen!
Multiple Shops in Tokyo
There are several Oreryu Shio Ramen shops in Tokyo, with the majority of them in Meguro and Shibuya city. Just look for the orange sign.
Crazy Hybrid Ramen, Light Shio
If you’re up for it, they do have interesting hybrid ramen, like this cheesy concoction below. It’s heaven on earth when the cheese melts in the soup and each time you retrieve noodles they collect some of that melted cheese.
Cheese Jjigae (Korean stew) Miso Ramen…the Godfather
Below I review their insane fried chicken ramen (takeout)!
Most of their ramen are understandably shio (salt based). The owner dabbled in different styles before settling on the subtler shio.
While there’s nothing subtle about cheese or fried chicken, they’re likely most proud of their lighter shio ramen.
Light Shio Ramen with Dumplings
While Oreryu Shio Ramen is a chain, its variety will keep you coming back. I recommend Oreryu if you’re first-time visitor to Tokyo.
